Location: Winchester, KY
Wage: $31.14 - $36.55 ($1.00 shift differential for night shift)
Shift: Night Shift, 10 hr. shifts, M-F (7:00PM-5:00AM)

While reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Mold Process Technician is responsible for achieving a high level of reliability and quality for our injection presses and molds, and minimize downtime. This individual will use their training and knowledge to perform equipment/process/system maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, make repairs, and identify opportunities for improvement.

This position will work 10-hour night shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime as required by production schedule. This position will also be on-call during weekends and night shift hours as needed. Must have experience with injection molding processing or mold bench work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Understands and follows safety policies and procedures. Performs all tasks safely and does not take risks. Identifies safety risks and works to reduce them.
  • The mold technician is responsible for all mold changes and mold bench work.
  • Supplies and maintains their own tools.
  • Documents and performs preventative/predictive maintenance tasks to eliminate equipment and mold breakdowns and failures.
  • Creates, and documents work completed using C-Works.
  • Demonstrates sound troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude in order to conduct systematic analysis of tooling, processes, and machines to solve existing problems.
  • Can understand overall equipment operation/function as it applies to maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and reliability of equipment sub-components.
  • Be capable of safely and properly installing and starting existing molds with established processes utilizing the 5 key process parameters.
  • Understand the quality system and be able to interpret data as it relates to the molding process.
  • Be responsible for accurate and thorough documentation of the molding process and data communication.
  • Follow priorities with regards to daily mold setup requirements and mold repair.
  • Assist in documentation of mold assembly and set up procedures.
  • Work with production personnel to improve and maintain proper mold cavitation and cycle time.
  • Responsible for all facets of the injection department including injection press and mold condition, cavitation of molds, and cycle times.
  • Work with outside machine shops in coordination of repair work as needed.

We'd Love to hear from you if:

  • Have experience with injection molding processing or mold bench work.
  • Communicates effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal/degraded equipment conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality or productivity.
  • Reads and understands mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to pass Category 2 electrical safe work practices standards and utilize safe work practices and PPE.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stand, stoop, grasp, and work from ladder
  • Ability to manipulate small parts on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
