Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Fayetteville State University ( FSU) Ticket Office falls under the organizational structure of Business Services within the Business and Finance Division. The Ticket Office is the primary administrative focus for the implementation and operation of the University's Consolidated Ticketed and Non-Ticketed Event Program. The University's Ticket Office was designed to serve as the central control system for the planning, coordinating, and supervision of various ticketed and non-ticketed events for the University. As a minimum, this includes all Alumni, Athletic, Drama, Lyceum, and Student Affairs events held on the University Campus.
Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The overall function of this position is to efficiently manage entry into university events by checking tickets and assisting attendees, ensuring a smooth and orderly process for entry. Also to ensure the safety and security of attendees at campus events by effectively operating metal detection equipment and screening individuals for prohibited items, prohibited items such as weapons or other dangerous objects using metal detection equipment.

This is an on-call temporary position which provides support for campus sporting events, concerts, plays, and related University special events. Work schedules will span from July 1st - June 1st.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of relevant experience in event-related work.
  • Required to have a regularly flexible schedule to accommodate events schedule, including nights and weekends.

Knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience in customer service
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attention to details and ability to accurately verify tickets.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work long hours on your feet.
  • Ability to quickly identify and tactfully address issues that may arise at events.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in an event setting.
