Position Overview

QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Computer Scientist - Software Analysis - Mid to join our team supporting our Government Client in Reston, VA.



Responsibilities

    Recommend software upgrades to existing systems and/or present newly available options which may better meet the needs of our organization
  • Code web of front-end user interfaces in in Jscript Frameworks, CSS, and HTML
  • Code graphical user interfaces in compiled languages such as Golang, C++, or Java
  • Code Application Programming Interfaces or Microservices connecting front end and back end components
  • Configure back end databases such as SQL or PostgreSQL databases
  • Develop repeatable processes and clearly communicate ideas and expectations
  • Expand existing software to meet the changing needs of key demographics
  • Identify, research, and present new solutions to old problems as technology and opportunity arise
  • Develop a new software product from the ground up, while working closely with stakeholders
  • Create fault-tolerant programming and a thorough QC process
  • Write tests for both existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability
  • Maintain code repositories in GITLAB using AGILE continuous integration / continuous development


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or information technology
  • 4 years of software development or programming experience in full stack development
  • Full stack development - Golang, Python, C++, JavaScript, Java, and other programming languages
  • Ability to code front end web interfaces and back end services such as internal and external application programming interfaces (APIs), databases, and microservices
  • Experience implementing and managing PKI for authentication and authorization
  • In-depth understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and CMSs
  • Working knowledge of SQL or PosgreSQL databases
  • Experience managing Linux and Windows servers hosted on VMWare ESXi hypervisor and cloud infrastructure
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking
  • Data analysis (modeling, visualization, processing) and high-performance computing
  • Familiar with AGILE continuous integration / continuous development process
  • Familiar with GITLAB or GITHUB
  • Current TS/SCI Clearance with CI poly, or ability to obtain poly prior to start date #qinetiqclearedjob
