$10,000 sign on bonus

The bonus will be paid out in 3 installments. 1/3 after 90 days, 1/3 after one year and 1/3 after 2 years of employment. Amount reflects gross pay, prior to applicable tax withholdings and deductions required by law.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time position in an expanding IAC accredited dedicated Vascular Lab with no call or weekends. The Vascular Surgery team is currently made up of six Vascular Surgeons, three Nurse Practitioners, one Physician Assistant, two Fellows and seven Vascular Technologists that perform patient care in the inpatient and outpatient care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs a variety of vascular testing including but not limited to peripheral venous (DVT), venous insufficiency, extracranial carotid, transcranial, renal artery, peripheral arterial and bypass graft, pulse volume recordings (PVR), abdominal aortic aneurysm, contrast enhanced EVAR, vein mapping for peripheral bypass, coronary bypass, and arteriovenous fistula, and dialysis access scans.
  • Performs studies in the Vascular Outpatient Laboratory, within inpatient units, and operating room.
  • Performs patient assessment of signs and symptoms including documentation of patient's pertinent medical history and symptoms.
  • Recognizes when the requested examination appears inappropriate based on patient symptoms or findings and takes appropriate action to addend the order. Determines when further study of individual patients is indicated and interacts with the referring physicians to provide the patient with the care they need.
  • Prepares accurate preliminary study reports. Provides critical preliminary study interpretation to ordering physician or responsible caregiver when necessary.
  • Responsible for appropriate maintenance of imaging and physiologic equipment, as well as images within PACS, and restocks supplies when necessary.
  • Maintains individual credentials through the acquisition of necessary CME's.
  • Assists in the training of vascular technology students, residents and fellows in the performance of noninvasive vascular diagnostic studies.
  • Participates in research studies and ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the Vascular Department
  • Participates in Vascular Depart accreditation process.

EDUCATION:

Baccalaureate or associate degree (or equivalent) with a demonstrated aptitude for biomedical technology and clinical medicine.

CERTIFICATION:

Active status as a Registered Vascular Technologist by the ARDMS, or Registered Vascular Specialist by CCI.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous demonstrated experience as a vascular technologist preferred.
