External candidates areeligible for a one-time signing bonus of $5,000 (prorated for part time roles). The bonus will be paid out as a $2,500 pay adjustment in the first paycheck following the completion of a successful, 90-day orientation; the second installment of $2,500 will be paid upon completion of 6 months (1040 hours/prorated for part time) of satisfactory service in the department hired into. This requires a one-year commitment.

Job Summary:

The Staff Psychologist serves as a complement to Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Care Manager members of the Primary Care Mental Health Care Integration Program. PCMHI employs the AIMS model of Integrated Primary Care. Psychologists serve as supplemental resources to AIMS in UVMMC Network Primary Care practices in need of additional psychotherapeutic resources. The Staff Psychologist will provide support to multiple practices, with a home base at a centrally located one.

Job Description:

Provides psychological services and collaborative for patients seen in Practice Primary Care clinics. Services include diagnostic evaluations, psychological intervention, interdisciplinary collaboration, and staff consultation. May provide clinical supervision and training with Psychology Residents and/or Postdoctoral Fellows, Psychiatry Residents and Fellows, or medical students and trainees of other medical specialties.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from APA accredited program

  • Completion of internship from APA accredited program

  • Completion of at least 1 year of postdoctoral fellowship or comparable experience in a health psychology, primary care mental health and/or consultation- liaison psychology setting preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years' post-licensure experience in Clinical Psychology preferred

  • Minimum 3 years' post-licensure experience in providing individual psychotherapy, clinical supervision and consultation preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of and skills providing cognitive-behavioral therapy and other empirically supported clinical interventions, crisis assessment and intervention, psychological testing, diagnostic formulation and treatment planning, general clinical and health psychology, and clinical consultation required

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude

  • Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence based clinical recommendations.

  • For Family and Pediatric Primary Care practices, experience with children, youth and families required.

Staff Psychologist must be Licensed Psychologist- doctorate in state of Vermont. Post-doctoral psychology trainee may be considered.
