ProMinds has a vacancy for a Data Analyst. In this role, you will be supporting the overall mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and West TX Hight Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). The job title is Data Analyst; the duties are those of an Administrative Assistant with Budget Analyst and purchasing duties.

Responsibilities



  • Support enforcement groups of DEA Agents and Task Force Officers (TFOs). Provide administrative support to the Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Group Supervisors and Special Agents.
  • Create budget forecasts based on historical data. Manage and update budget for five different HIDTA initiatives.
  • Analyze budgets with group supervisors and make recommendations for funds allocation.
  • Review funding requests and maintain grant funded spreadsheet by monitoring budgets limitations and agency needs.
  • Monitor expenditures in assigned areas to ensure they are being conducted in accordance with grant specifications.
  • Collaborate with the accounting branch to resolve funding execution discrepancies and provided fund availability to the group supervisors when requested.
  • Oversee the preparation of requisitions and purchase orders, track obligations, compare expenditure plans against fund limitations, and perform financial reconciliations.
  • Track inventory, submit disposal memorandums to funding agency, HIDTA and DEA.
  • Deobligate Purchases of Evidence and Purchases of Information after obtaining appropriate approval from Group Supervisors.
  • Prepare quarterly reports to HIDTA management. These reports include expended funds and vendor details.
  • Process travel vouchers for Special Agents and TFOs to reimburse travel expenditures.
  • Extract data from various agency databases (e.g. IMPACT, UFMS, FIRM, PMP). Data entry of statistical information.
  • Update statistics in the HIDTA Performance Management Process (PMP) database such as drug and asset seizures and create DTOs with Group Supervisor.
  • Maintain logs and gas receipts for agents' Official Government Vehicles (OGV).
  • Receives, gathers, analyzes, and organizes information from multiple sources.
  • Ensures completeness of received information and reconciles inconsistencies.
  • Accurately enters required data into one or more databases, documents, or spreadsheets.
  • Establishes and maintains physical files.
  • Keeps track of case file status in order to ensure compliance with established deadlines.
  • Coordinates requests for additional information as needed.
  • Selects relevant information from a variety of sources in order to prepare documents, reports, summaries, and replies to inquiries, ensuring accuracy and proper format of the information provided.
  • Performs word processing relevant to case.
  • Provides accurate and timely status updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements



  • High School diploma or GED, Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Exerience with funding obligations, purchasing, accounting or finance strongly preferred
  • Ability to grasp and understand the organization and functions of the customer
  • Meticulous data entry skills
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written
  • Competence to review, interpret, and evaluate complex legal and non-legal documents
  • Attention to detail and the ability to read and follow directions is extremely important
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other common software applications, to include databases, intermediate skills preferred
  • Proven commitment and competence to provide excellent customer service; positive and flexible
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional disposition

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is responsible for conducting national and international investigations targeting global drug trafficking networks and drug-related terrorism involved in the illegal growing, manufacturing, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States. The High Itensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program coordinates and assists federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies to address regional drug threats with the purpose of reducing drug threats with the purpose of reducing drug trafficking and production within the U.S.
