The Assistant Nurse Manager is the primary support person for the direction and coordination of the nursing care for a specific patient care area. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates in the assessment, evaluation, daily operations, and planning for nursing care in the clinical area. This person will carry out the outlined responsibilities with guidance from the Leadership Team. The Assistant Nurse Manager responsibilities will include but not limited to participating in hiring and evaluation of staff, setting and maintaining standards of nursing care and practice, coordinating service for patients, providing professional growth of staff and clinical coaching on the unit and bedside with all staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager shares joint responsibility for all outcomes of the unit to include patient satisfaction, employee engagement and fiscal responsibility. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position. Unit Description: "As a nurse on the Progressive Care Unit, you can care for a wide range of moderately complex patients between two unique units, R3/R4. PCU provides advanced monitoring with sophisticated equipment, intensive treatments, and a team approach to promote wellness through assessment, monitoring, and education in critically ill patients. The Progressive Care nurse primarily treats patients with the following diagnosis: compromised airway requiring intensive respiratory therapy, controlled infusion of antiarrhythmic or vasoactive IV drug therapy, acute poisoning, suicide attempts, multisystem failure, neurologic abnormalities, metabolic crisis, multiple trauma, chest pain, myocardial infarction, heart failure, hemodynamic instability, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, post-anesthesia care, mechanical ventilation, cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia analysis, thrombolytic therapy, GI bleeding, internal/external pacing, electrical cardioversion, acute dialysis (peritoneal, hemodialysis) and post-cardiac arrest. PCU nurses are encouraged and supported for professional growth with committee commitments, education seminars, certifications, advancement in degree, LEAD, preceptor course, and within-department education." Expectation: 75% time on the unit & 25% clerical Potential Shifts: 11am to 11pm 12pm to 12am 1pm to 1am 2pm to 2am 3pm to 3am On-call: Required - Weekends Qualifications: |
