External candidates areeligible for a one-time signing bonus of $5,000 (prorated for part time roles). The bonus will be paid out as a $2,500 pay adjustment in the first paycheck; the second installment of $2,500 will be paid upon completion of 6 months (1040 hours/prorated for part time) of satisfactory service in the department hired into. This requires a one-year commitment.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a full-time psychologist to join other providers in our nationally acclaimed regional Cancer Center. The incoming psychologist would provide psychotherapy to patients referred in both inpatient medical and outpatient settings. In addition, this psychologist may provide clinical supervision to Psychology Residents and Postdoctoral Fellows. Collaboration with and consultation to medical providers, nursing staff and others would also be anticipated.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Staff Psychologists at UVMMC provide psychological services to patients seen in one or more clinical sites, including inpatient psychiatric, medical-surgical, or rehabilitation units; emergency department; outpatient programs; and general, primary and/or specialty clinics. Specific duties are determined by site. Services may include diagnostic evaluations, focused clinical assessment, psychological intervention, staff consultation, clinical supervision, and program development and oversight. Staff psychologists may also participate in multidisciplinary organizational initiatives and program evaluation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The psychologist who assumes this position will join a team of clinicians who provide clinical consultation to staff and psychotherapy to patients referred by the Cancer Center and hospital attending physicians. The incoming psychologist will provide support in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Our service prioritizes supportive intervention to facilitate adjustment to diagnosis and treatment as well as relapse and end of life concerns when indicated. The incoming psychologist will be expected to collaborate with Cancer Center providers and colleagues across disciplines.

EDUCATION:

Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from APA or CPA accredited program (or equivalent).

Must have valid Psychologist-PhD - license.
Doctorate in an APA/CPA accredited Counseling Psychology program may be considered if training is commensurate with role requirements.
Completion of internship from APA accredited program (or equivalent).
Completion of at least 1-year post-doctoral training in a clinical setting.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years' post-licensure experience in Clinical Psychology preferred, including experience providing individual, family and group psychotherapy, clinical supervision and staff consultation.

Recent graduates of PhD or PsyD programs in Clinical or Counseling Psychology may be considered for postdoctoral fellowship for this position. Salary and benefits would be commensurate with experience

Recently licensed psychologists with strong relevant clinical and supervisory experience may be considered.

A background and training in Psycho-Oncology is highly preferred.

Clinical experience with patients with life threatening medical conditions or other Health Psychology -Strongly Preferred.

Clinical experience with patients with Cancer -Preferred.

Previous experience with evidence-based time limited interventions, such as Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Meaning based Psychotherapy- Strongly preferred.

Previous assessment experience with patients diagnosed with Cancer -Preferred.
