Staff Pharmacist - Per Diem

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.

Schedule: This position is scheduled to work two 8-hour shifts from 8:00am-4:00pm weekdays (ideally Monday and Friday but flexible), with on-call immediately following each shift, and additionally as needed to help provide coverage.

About the Facility: North Star Hospital is one of four locations of the North Star Behavioral Health System which offers programs in and around the Anchorage, Alaska area for children, teens and adults who suffer from psychiatric or substance abuse issues and offers military-specific care to first responders, service members, veterans and dependents at the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital. This 200-bed hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission.CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.

About the Pharmacy:Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm. The pharmacy utilizes HCS and Omnicell technology systems.

Required Qualifications:



  • BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current Alaska Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Hospital pharmacist experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written


Hospital Requirements (may be required):



  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof ofnegativeTB skin test within thelast 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer provingimmunity
  • Varicella -(2)documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • HepB3 Series(or declination)
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • COVID Vaccine-Full (or declination)
