Genesis10 is seeking a Maintenance Technician with PLC expertise for a full-time position working for our manufacturing client in Darien, WI.
Schedule: 2 nd shift and some on-call for emergencies
Compensation: $35.00-37.00 per hour
Job Description:
Advises and coordinates activities/projects within the maintenance department related to equipment, processes and the facility. This includes but is not limited to the preventive maintenance, repair, modification, and improvements of production equipment. This position is also responsible for the overall safety of individuals in their assigned equipment workspace as well as the upkeep of the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to all required safety and occupational health guidelines and procedures.
- Responsible for the safety of all personnel within the assigned machine workspace. Maintains a clean and orderly work area when performing tasks on equipment and building.
- Oversees repairs and as well as assigned personnel to perform repairs to allow machines to operate within process control compliance limits. Inspects completed work for conformance to prints, standards, etc. May weld/machine parts and fixtures as needed.
- Responsible for the completion of preventive maintenance according to preventive maintenance schedule.
- Responsible for the comprehensive completion of all assigned projects.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggest changes to increase the efficiency of Maintenance Department activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area within the maintenance shop, office, and store rooms.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies as needed and approved.
- Work with other department managers or supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Responsible for the completion of work orders in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Work in a team-centered atmosphere may train/coach new and existing personnel.
- Practices and exemplifies safe behaviors and workplace practices.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce operational and personnel policies and procedures well as perform other duties as assigned.
- Completes project work to meet agreed-upon milestones and completion dates.
Education and/or Experience:
- Five years prior experience is required in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment.
- Two-year associate degree in machine maintenance and repair as well as PLC programming/troubleshooting
- Combination of education and experience listed above
- Strong Industrial Electrical and Mechanical background.
- Ability to weld/fabricate
- Effective oral and written communication skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills
- Must be eligible to work in the United States

- Frequent walking, standing, climbing up and down platforms/ladders, bending, squatting, twisting and extensive reaching.
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Lift 10 - 25 lbs. frequently, 25 - 70 lbs. occasionally, and utilize the buddy system for heavier weights.
