Additional Job Description: West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, Anatomy & Laboratory Medicine (PALM) seeks an academic board certified/eligible pathologist with specialty interest in Renal Pathology to include Transplant Pathology. This is an open rank position, and the successful candidate is expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Candidates must be committed to excellent patient care. WVU and the PALM Department have significant infrastructure and a collaborative atmosphere that will support a candidate's professional pursuits. Other service and leadership responsibilities will be based on a candidate's training and skills, as well as departmental and institutional needs. Duties: The successful candidate will join our existing pathology faculty and practice within a specialty-based system. Responsibilities include all facets of renal and transplant pathology. The pathologist is supported by a new state-of-art electron microscope and all necessary onsite ancillary testing. Active involvement in teaching our medical students, residents, and fellows is required. Qualifications: Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree, be board certified/eligible in AP or AP/CP and must have subspecialty fellowship training or expertise in renal and transplant pathology. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a state medical license. All qualifications must be met at the time of employment. About the Department: WVU PALM is a rapidly growing department consisting of faculty in AP, CP, Translational Pathology, Anatomical Sciences and Medical Laboratory Sciences. Clinical AP services are committed to Digital Pathology with remote sign-out capability. Faculty research activities are supported by the PALM Tissue Bank, Research Histology Lab, Brain Bank and the Rapid Development Laboratory.
