The Laboratory works with government and industry to transition new concepts, technology and prototypes into future system development and deployment. Position Description
The Contracting Services Department is seeking a Subcontracts Administrator with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Commercial Purchasing or Supply Chain to include working knowledge of the FAR/DFARS, sourcing, market research, price analysis, negotiation, awarding and documenting purchases for materials and services. Bid/proposal activities include use of reverse auctions to maximize competition. The selected candidate will be expected to manage a variety of commercial commodities and services. Candidate will execute purchase orders and modifications to orders as well as provide professional & courteous customer service to clients via phone and email interaction. Candidate will review their requirements to ensure orders are being placed and prioritized in a timely manner. This position supports internal clients by providing complete, accurate and current information on products and services, pricing and availability. Primary responsibilities include soliciting and analyzing quotations; negotiating terms and conditions of purchases; working with customers and vendors to solve problems with shipments, defective items and expediting orders; along with preparing all correspondence and documentation necessary to secure government consent.
