Additional Job Description:

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Radiology seek a Nuclear Medicine radiologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of diagnostic and nuclear radiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensures in states where imaging services are provided by WVU Medicine. Successful candidate must have completed a nuclear medicine, or rad nuclear/radiology residency program or one-year nuclear medicine/PET fellowship. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in ABNM and/or ABR. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

The Division of Nuclear Medicine and PET Imaging is seeking an individual with an excellent nuclear medicine background and working experience in all facets of nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging, including oncology, cardiology, and neurology protocols. Experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy is desired as the Division is very active in conventional and new therapies for thyroid cancer, lymphoma, neuroendocrine tumors, prostate, and others.The Division works closely with the Neurosciences and Heart & Vascular Institutes. Resources include state-of-the-art PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and gamma camera equipment and associated computer hardware and software platforms for dedicated nuclear medicine processing and advanced computational analysis, as well as an on-site cyclotron.

The Department of Radiology is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging. We promote, develop, and integrate advances in imaging technology and imaging-based therapeutic procedures to complement the clinical, educational and research missions of WVU. We have a growing outreach imaging program covering several hospitals in the tri-state area. Facility and imaging equipment is of the highest quality with outstanding clinical infrastructure in place. The department boasts a highly successful, federally funded PET instrumentation research team.
