Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Logistics and Customs Specialist for a Contract to Hire or Full Time Direct Hire role. Candidates must live in Pittsburgh, PA and be open to on-site work. This role pays $30-35/HR W2 or 60-65K Salary based on experience.

Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience in both domestic and international logistics operations including customs requirements while driving excellence, continuous improvement with exceptional interpersonal, computer, organizational and communication skills. The individual must be versatile, detail-oriented, have good analytical skills and be proactive while taking on new initiatives.

What you'll do

• Accountable for classification of all imported and exported equipment filed under SMS group Inc. customs bond.
• Responsible for broker invoice accuracy and entry summaries insuring classification and initiating corrections as required.
• Develop and implement savings/cost avoidance opportunities or lead time reduction projects
• Maintain and retain all entries/classifications documentation.
• Support all SMS global entities with USA customs clearance requirements
• Responding to customs inquiries to clarify classifications and other matters.
• Assisting associates, suppliers and customers with customs matters.
• Manage all import brokers activities and issues.
• Arrange international and domestic shipments to support SMS group projects.
• Prepare all documents related to international shipments (import/export)
• Adhere to all company compliance policies
• Knowledge of all current and pending customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules.
• Performs other or additional duties as assigned.
• Required - Microsoft Office, Outlook, Office equipment (phone, copier, printer, scanner).
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Organizational Skills. Inter-personal skills. Problem solving Skills. Handle high volume, time sensitive work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use multiple systems and reference material. Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management of all levels, internal departments.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree is required, concentration in international business or logistics-supply chain preferred.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and/or broker's license is preferred.
• Supply chain/logistics related experience within the industrial manufacturing industry plus 2-5 years of customs experience is required.
• SAP experience preferred
