• Perform moderate to high complexity histology procedures on patient specimens and quality control materials.
• Conduct non-physician gross examinations and high complexity staining procedures as required.
• Utilize sound decision-making skills to evaluate quality control results and ensure accuracy in test outcomes.
• Operate and maintain instruments and equipment, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and departmental protocols.
• Participate in quality assessment, procedure development, and the training of new employees.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and staff, ensuring excellent customer service throughout Lee Health.

Education:

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited institution, or completion of a recognized Histology training program.
• Education and training must meet the requirements for non-physician gross examinations as described by CAP Anatomic Pathology Checklist and CLIA regulations.

Licensure:

• Active Histology Technologist License in the State of Florida required.

Experience:

• No prior experience required, but successful completion of an accredited Histology training program is necessary.
