What you'll do

As the Human Resources Generalist for Utilimaster (A Shyft Brand) based at our facility in Landisville, PA, you will enjoy playing a critical role in progressing the Human Resources systems and initiatives in the areas of recruitment and selection, benefits, compensation, and performance management.

You will also be involved with overseeing the plant's conflict resolution activity and making recommendations to respective managers about paths to resolution. In addition, you will be responsible for administering company compensation and benefits programs and investigating claims of policy or code of ethics violations.

You will also:

• Assist with developing and administering company-wide HR policies, procedures, and practices
• Maintain compliance with applicable legal requirements
• Respond to inquiries regarding the organization's processes, policies, procedures, and programs
• Collaborate with HR colleagues at other Shyft locations to support HR projects and initiatives
• Coordinate the distribution and communication of HR projects including the Associate Handbook, 401(k) Plan, healthcare, and other employee benefits
• Resolve individual or team issues or conflicts through counseling team members and managers
• Identify potential employee-relations issues and making recommendations to respective colleagues that will lead to a resolution
• Conduct thorough investigations about violation claims regarding company policies or Code of Ethics
• Administer company compensation and benefits programs and facilitate the hiring process
• Manage short-term disability and FMLA leave requests and claims

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a discipline, or equivalent combination of education and HR Generalist experience
• Five or more (5+) years of HR experience in a manufacturing setting
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
• Ability to work in a highly confidential environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• A track record of having sound judgment and making timely, and sometimes difficult, decisions
• A history of handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

What Makes You Stand Out

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field
• PHR, SPHR, or GPHR certifications
