The UMKC School of Education, Social Work and Psychological Sciences, Department of Social Work invites applications for a part-time adjunct instructor in its Advanced Generalist MSW Degree Program. This position involves working with the MSW Program Director where there are not multiple sections in the construction of the course syllabus, including the requisite assessment criteria and measures. The courses that are taught by social work adjuncts vary each semester and include both required courses and elective courses. Required courses focus on general social work practice, advanced social work practice, human development and theories, organization and community development and theories, research, program evaluation, policy, systemic oppression, and Capstone. Electives vary more so and generally are in a specific service sector, with a specific population or a specific topic, these can include social work practice in schools, health care, substance use disorders, gerontology, mental health, trauma, child welfare, ethics, violence, grief & loss, disabilities, immigrants & refugees, psychopathology, or groups. Applicants are strongly encouraged in their cover letter to articulate their social work practice areas of expertise. Required:
