Overview

* This position is every Sunday plus some weekday coverage to cover for vacations
Conducts activities assessments to determine patients' interests and desired activities while patients are on the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, and provides those activities as appropriate.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts activities assessments on all new admissions to the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
  • Provides activities including but not limited to crafts, cooking, Wii, bingo, etc.
  • Maintains a monthly calendar/schedule of activities provided.
  • Seeks input and direction from OT/PT/SLP staff to provide patient centered activities.
  • Completes computer charting in flowsheet format to document participation and tolerance to activity.
  • Communicates with interdisciplinary rehab team including physiatrist.
  • Most activities are provided in the evenings or on weekends.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certification and Licensure

BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Basic Word computer skills, EPIC EMR experience helpful but not required

Special Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to handle or feel, and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities of this fob include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus
