Job Description

Position Overview:

The Mold Tech performs several maintenance functions within the tooling maintenance team including repairing, maintaining, cleaning molding equipment.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supports manufacturing operations by cleaning, tear-down, evaluation and repair of existing molds within the facility.
  • Document cleanings, corrective actions, modifications, spare parts installed, and other relevant information for all molds within the facility.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding, safety, ISO, GMP's.
  • Supports production by maintaining all molds in a production ready state. Performs cavitation and insert changes on compatible molds.
  • Conducts cleaning, lubrication and polishing of applicable mold components.
  • Supports production department.
  • Requests/Work Orders for troubleshooting molds currently in production and installed in injection molding machines.
  • Operates lift truck, overhead crane, and related equipment to lift, move, and handle mold.
  • Uses micrometer, calipers, and fixed or adjustable gauges as needed to check mold components meet specified tolerances.
  • Sets up and operates various shop machinery including grinders, drills, mills, lathes and various hand tools.
  • Must be able to complete job assignments in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Understand and follow EHS policy and requirements specified in applicable EHS documents.
  • Know where applicable system documents are located.
  • Report actual and potential EHS incidents and emergencies to managers or supervisors.
  • Communicate system non-conformances to managers or supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of related experience in Mold Shop in plastics industry.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Industry Knowledge and skills:
  • Understands Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
  • Must be a team player and able to demonstrate willingness and ability to provide assistance to co-workers.
  • Basic mechanical skill.
  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical School preferred.
