Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Plant Accountant will provide financial leadership and support all day to day accounting, planning, reporting, systems and controls to accurately reflect the plants finances. This work includes general ledger accounting, full responsibility for month-end close, forecasting, reporting & analysis, and compliance monitoring. This role will complete all plant accounting and financial activities and ensure financial integrity of plant operations. This is a hands-on role requiring successful candidate to work at both the detailed task level and to provide leadership while looking for cost savings along with system improvements.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

General ledger accounting including full responsibility for the month-end close. This includes journal entries, variance analysis, and report preparation.

Prepare weekly forecasts and annual budget.

Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations.

Compliance monitoring and documentation to adhere to SOX and internal control requirements.

Fixed asset accounting to include capital requests, CIP management, & annual fixed asset audits.

Provide financial information, ad hoc analysis and support to various stakeholders as required.

Process check requests, AP Invoice resolution, and intercompany transfers

Prepare monthly Sales & Use Tax Returns and other local filing requirements.

Ensure plant personnel's adherence to ARPNA policy and financial data accuracy through transaction reviews, administration and review/approval of time reporting, inventory cycle count audits, HFI/OSM inventory reviews, fixed asset physical inventory, administration of fixed asset movements/capitalization

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA/CMA/MBA a plus) and 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance as Plant Accountant (or equivalent) in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrates an awareness of all elements of plant's financial statements.

Ability to multi-task, reprioritize, and meet strict deadlines while working under pressure.

Sound organizational and planning skills.

Sound problem solving and analytical skills.

Strong IT systems aptitude (Excel, SAP, BPC, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Salary range $79,700-$99,000 based on experience.
