Job Description

Job Summary

*This position is for night shift

Machine Operator employees are responsible for the operation of multiple blow molding machines and vision systems using written work instructions and computer interface. Requires a general understanding of overall manufacturing process and the ability to understand and follow basic good manufacturing practices.

Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Responsible for ensuring that all machines within the scope of responsibility are kept running and producing quality bottles while insuring the least amount of down-time possible. This includes communicating problems to on-coming shift personnel.
  • Responsible for completing all mold changes and set-ups. Minor maintenance activities are required.
  • Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean-up assignments, and adequately maintain good housekeeping throughout the entire area of responsibility.
  • Makes machine adjustments when necessary and ensures we maintain BIC process set up.
  • Loads hopper to ensure continuous raw material supply to the blow molder.
  • Assists with machine preventative maintenance and changeovers.
  • Checks and monitors quality on all assigned machines by understanding and recognizing all visual quality defects and how to make appropriate adjustments to correct quality defects.
  • Maintains all required documentation of quality checks and testing, process checks, downtime, housekeeping, and data entry.
  • Displays a full understanding and working knowledge of all related software and other equipment required for efficient production of quality product.
  • Responsible for staging daily packaging materials as needed.
  • Displays a full understanding of different product scrap and works with warehouse to determine best location for staging scrap.
  • Communicates with warehouse personnel when staging production.
  • Can interpret alarms and determine whether maintenance is needed.
  • Able to change materials on the following equipment.
    • Ticketer
    • Wrapper
    • Strapper
  • Assists warehouse in creating dunnage for production.
  • Assists maintenance during a breakdown.
  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor Safety Commitment and as trained.
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents.
  • Product Safety regarding cleanliness and notification of any observations that may create a product safety risk to our customers.
  • Performs daily duties assigned by the shift lead, including being present for the shift change meeting.
  • Completes all computer-based training in a timely manner.
  • Able to comply with OSHA regulations.
  • Able to work modified shift, including 12-hour shifts day or nights, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous manufacturing work experience is preferred

Pay: from $23.15 per hour
