Job Description

Responsible for developing, managing and supporting EHS programs for multiple manufacturing locations.Ensure compliance with Amcor and regulatory EHS standards and foster a strong safety culture.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective development and implementation of EHS programs across the business to satisfy Amcor and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and support EHS training and communications efforts across the business related to EHS policies, procedures, standards, reporting, initiatives, etc., intended to maintain awareness and accountability.
  • Develop and provide monthly EHS reports and other updates as necessary to enable targeted risk reduction efforts and performance improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents, ensure proper investigations are conducted, root causes identified, and proper corrective and preventive actions executed across the business.
  • Coordinate plant EHS self-assessments and EHS audits across the business as required to satisfy Amcor EHS standards.
  • Serve as primary support resource for plant EHS managers and teams across the business.
  • Ensure plants within scope have proper Injury Prevention Plans to continuously improve safety performance.
  • Ensure plants within scope have proper Compliance Plans to satisfy company and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with EHS teams across Amcor to share and implement best practices where necessary.
  • Lead special assignments or projects as assigned.
  • Lead or participate in business unit or business group EHS committees as necessary.
  • Coordinate and support environmental compliance activities (eg: emissions control, waste disposal, etc.).

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or similar required.
  • Post graduate qualifications(s), including relevant certification(s) preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience, preferably in packaging or manufacturing industry, with a large multi-national organization.
  • Multiple site EHS management experience.
  • Experience implementing critical safe work programs and practices (LOTO, machine guarding, confined space entry, work at heights, electrical work, etc.)
  • Proficiency in applicable EHS codes, standards, regulations, etc.
  • Experience interacting with EHS regulatory agencies
  • Travel as required, estimated at no more than 40%
