Senior Product Stewardship Specialist

As a Senior Product Stewardship Specialist, you will ensure compliance with the regulatory environment by interpreting regulations and recommending possible strategies for compliance. You will interact with all PPG business functions as part of the Product Stewardship team to ensure compliance with chemical control laws as well as support general product stewardship demands and opportunities.

You will report to the Global Manager of Regulatory and Emerging Issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Biocide regulatory support for Biocide Compliance, Emerging Issues Management and Advocacy.

  • Provide regulatory support related to various US TSCA programs such as Low Volume Exemptions, Pre-Manufacture Notifications, 12(b) Export notifications and Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) Submissions.

  • Perform product stewardship reviews and audits.

  • Contribute to maintaining and improving the Product Stewardship Management System.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend changes within the Product Stewardship function and product stewardship related activities within the COE, regions, and businesses.

  • Prepare information to be used in communications with a wide variety of PPG functions including marketing, technical, legal, purchasing, product management, supply chain, customer service, technical service, and IT.

  • May prepare responses to customer requests, both internal and external, with a customer-centric sense of urgency.

  • Assist in developing and providing product stewardship training and expertise for applicable personnel.

  • Develop solutions and sustainable processes to a variety of moderately complex problems of moderate scope; Provide guidance to others (i.e., multiple business unit segments, countries, regulations, number/diversity of product lines, end uses, customer complexity).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, EHS field or related science.

  • 5 + years of related experience.

  • Good working knowledge of product regulatory requirements both for domestic as well as international destinations a plus.

  • Previous experience acting as a technical expert and providing direction to less experienced employees.

  • Working knowledge of key business metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable.
