Job Summary

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and developing custom mechanical and electromechanical products and subsystems for TriContinent syringe pumps and related equipment. To excel, you should have hands-on experience in product development, with a solid understanding of process capabilities, materials, fluidics, in addition to troubleshooting abilities. Proficiency in data acquisition and machine tool operation is essential. From concept to production floor, your understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and their practical applications will be helpful in this role.

Ideally, you bring an expertise in conducting design reviews, design verification testing, and project planning, including Stage Gate/Toll Gate processes. Your skills in injection molding of plastics and/or aluminum die casting are highly valued, as is your background in general machining, working with metals and plastics (lathe and mill work), which will pave the way for your success. Additionally, proficiency in inspecting parts using measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators is greatly appreciated.

Responsibilities


  • Research & Evaluation
    :


    • Evaluates existing products for re-design, reliability, improved function, or value engineering.

    • Leads value engineering initiatives for our division.



  • Production Processing
    :


    • Support activities to introduce new production, including manufacturability improvements.



  • Design
    :


    • Product designs and design layouts are developed from ideas, sketches and verbal instruction.

    • Work directly with other engineers to design and develop quality products to take product design from concept to production. Create finished drawings of parts and assemblies

    • Develop schedules and time estimates for product design and modification

    • Create all documentation needed for new or updated products, including drawings, BOMs, product quality documents.



  • Testing
    :


    • Coordinates all product test activities. Builds and tests prototypes. Testing and documentation as required



  • Work with vendors, manufacturing, and engineering to procure parts and build models

  • Responsible for timely, efficient, and quality execution of the assigned tasks. Write project reports such as project status reports. Execution of ECO (Engineering Change Order) documentation changes




Basic Qualifications


  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or four (4) or more years working as a mechanical engineer with syringe pumps.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required beyond schooling. Medical or Scientific industry experience preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years with with Pro-E, or SolidWorks, Inventor and/or Creo CAD modeling

  • Experience developing design layouts and tolerance studies

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel in a service function

  • Fully site based

  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident

The pay range for this role is $60,300 - 124,900. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Ingersoll Rand, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
