Job Summary

Join as our Manufacturing Engineer where you'll leverage proven methods to drive down costs while enhancing quality and productivity. You'll play a crucial role in analyzing and implementing new capital equipment, ensuring seamless integration and comprehensive documentation. Your expertise will be pivotal in reviewing new product designs for manufacturability and providing technical support for engineering and process improvements. Engage in rapid improvement events to foster continuous advancement and innovation within our dynamic manufacturing environment.

We look for demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis using 8D's and 5-Why tools to quickly resolve manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing. As you utilize your engineering knowledge to develop robust manufacturing processes, you'll have opportunity to showcase your abilities in driving effective engineering principles and processes. Your knowledge of new model launch requirements will ensure seamless and flawless launches, contributing to our success.

Responsibilities


  • Designs and coordinates standard manufacturing processes while planning and enhancing production methods, including workflow, tooling, assembly techniques, and production equipment.
  • Oversees fixture design and manufacture and ensures final process is capable and stable. Develops, tests, modifies, and creates solutions to technical problems.
  • Estimates production times and optimum staffing for production schedules.
  • Determines the development or purchase of capital equipment, interacts with design, manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Creates production processes and documents through routings, bills of materials and standard work. Evaluates non-confirming parts and provides proper disposition.
  • Assists internal and external suppliers with process problems and troubleshoots to find root cause.
  • Leads and participates in Lean Manufacturing improvement events using all available tools and techniques; Implements cost reduction ideas.
  • Directing and coordinating production, operations, quality assurance, testing, or maintenance processes



Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial or Mechanical engineering.
  • Fluent knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Machining, assembly and quality control processes
  • Knowledge of basic design and manufacturing datum development and its effect in manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas: final assembly and testing, and advanced experience with engineering-related software
  • Proven ability in designing tools, fixtures, and gauges, coupled with in-depth understanding of inspection tools, techniques, and their application to engineering specifications.



Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • Fully site based
  • Ensure safety designed into all processes and implements safety corrective actions required to eliminate safety risks
  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident



Key Competencies

  • Demonstrated skills in tool, fixture and gage design, coupled with a proven understanding of inspection tools, techniques and their application to engineering requirements
  • Knowledge of basic design and manufacturing datum development and its effect in manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of new model launch requirements and processes to ensure flawless launch goals
  • Strong Project management skills, leading and execution, with knowledge of creating project specifications and detailed plans.
  • Must be a self-starter with high initiative, able to work independently and collaboratively
