Overview

SCCI is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team! The successful candidate will apply systems engineering processes, work with the customer and end-users to define requirements and collaborate with the technical team in building the systems associated with a tactical system. The position will interface with engineering functional areas (i.e. Software Engineering, Test, Configuration Management, Training, and Safety) and external organizations to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document final solutions. Travel once a quarter may be required for participation in remote life cycle events. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Participating in the milestones of the rapid development process employed by the program including Design Reviews, the Systems Engineering Working Group and weekly Integrated Products Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups (WGs), and supporting Product Review Panels (PRPs) and Product Certification Panels (PCPs)
  • Developing requirements for tactical systems integrated with air, land and sea platforms
  • Applying systems (software-centric) engineering best practices for the definition and decomposition of requirements, design and implementation of stakeholder and end-user requirements
  • Understanding and measuring operational performance criteria and provide input for improving performance and graphical interface design
  • Developing technical documentation and present system plans and progress reports both orally and in writing
  • Developing Model Based Systems Engineering models for assigned project and collaborate with peers on the evolution and application of the program's MBSE Community of Practice
  • Designing and presenting solutions for software centric projects including approaches and requirements for Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) aligned with the principles of Human Factors
  • Understanding and engaging with technical teams supporting a large and complex system with multiple stakeholders
  • Function as a team player in order to accomplish tasks


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a tactical system application
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Software-centric Systems Engineering experience


Specialized Experience:



  • Must have software experience with SysML tools, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Systems requirements management

  • Software tools
  • Systems engineering processes



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with Magic Draw or Cameo Systems Modeler
