About The Role

Wheatland Bank, is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer to be an integral part of our team. The Commercial Loan Officer develops new commercial loan business and manages a portfolio of assigned commercial loans. The Commercial Loan Officer serves as a representative to current and potential banking clients who require commercial loan services to meet their needs. The position requires interviews and credit analysis on new and existing credit applications and arrives at a conclusion to recommend approval or to decline credit applications. The Commercial Loan Officer advises customers on loan status and approvals and works closely with Credit Administration to maintain loan quality and ensure the timely and accurate processing of loan requests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop new business by meeting with current and prospective commercial customers within the target market.
  • Meet with applicants to obtain information; compile and analyze data for loan requests; submit applications to credit analysts for preparation of financial analysis and approval recommendations.
  • Recommend products and services to potential borrowers and handle inquiries from applicants including explanation of the loan requirements and process.
  • Screen loan requests based on bank policies and procedures and on types of loans offered.
  • Prepare and present loan proposals and packages in accordance with bank standards for presentation to senior management, loan committee and the board of directors.
  • Confer and work closely with Loan Assistants and the Credit Analyst to expeditiously decision loan requests.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality credit culture.
  • Becomes a brand ambassador in the Community and volunteers in local organizations.

About You

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Finance, Administration or related field.
  • Or a minimum of 5 years of similar or related financial industry experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The pay range for this postion is $90,000.00 to $145,000 per year. Pay is dependent upon relevant experience.
