Sealants Lab Technician Combo

PPG Aerospace is looking for an Entry Level Sealants Lab Technician at our Manufacturing Facility based in Mojave, CA! As aSealants Lab Technician Combo, you are the person who ensures that products manufactured at this facility meet all customer requirements. You will report directly to Sealants Lab Supervisor. Lab Experience isn't required but we hope you have some basic experience working in a lab type environment. Every batch of product we produce requires someone like you to do testing. Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic mathematical equations
• Must be willing to work all M-F and weekend shifts:
  • 1st Shift: 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift: 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • 3rd Shift: 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
• Conduct Analytical testing on our Raw Materials, Coatings, and Sealants products and ensure all testing is performed as defined
• Ensure all Lab equipment is working and calibrated
• Help achieve team goals by communicating ideas, suggestions, and assistance, e.g., identifying and communicating ways to save time, effort, and resources
• Be or become familiar with SOPs and ASTMs pertaining to everyday chemicals and testing procedures
• Participate in all safety protocols and 5S initiatives and help to maintain the laboratory equipment and inventories
• Keep a clean work environment, including the execution of routine upkeep activities in support of the entire lab
• Inspect, test, and perform evaluations on products
• Clearly identify and communicate issues that need to be addressed and take the necessary steps to avoid future errors
• Digital literacy in ERP System (QAD preferred) and Microsoft Office
• Align with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements at all times

Qualifications

• One (1) year of previous experience working in a laboratory environment strongly preferred
• Related technical certifications with coatings and sealants preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required or bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field preferred
• Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident

Salary Range: $48,000-$54,000 Depending on experience
