Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Permit Coordinator. The Permit Coordinator conducts research for permit requirements based on the job type and agency for which the work is to be performed. They will be responsible for researching property appraiser sites, county GIS, legal documents to find plats, easements, right of way dimensions, etc. as a necessary function of their job. The Permit Coordinator will draw and draft permit sketches in AutoCAD that adhere to agency specific requirements. This person will be working in a team with Distribution Designers/Engineers for overhead and underground electric distribution projects.



Responsibilities

    Prepares computer-assisted drawings that show work to be completed by the client that outlines agency right-of-way boundaries, existing UG utilities, and measurements from utilities to the work zone.
  • Constant communication with client Permit Coordinators to ensure drawings we've created and submitted are approved by agency. If not, corrections required and tracking is imperative.
  • Understand Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and utilize appropriate standards to drawings.
  • Understand Right of Way, Easements, Road Ownership, property boundaries.
  • Submits required documents to client server and document repository.
  • Tracks and updates permitting requirements.
  • Attends regular training sessions to maintain proficiency in design work.
  • Promotes a safe work environment.
  • Follows safety procedures in and out of the office including tailboard meeting and vehicle safety inspections (when applicable).
  • Stays current on client guideline changes.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in AutoCAD drafting software.
  • Knowledge of Right of Way, Easements, property boundaries, and related legal concepts.
  • Experience in document management and submission processes, including using client servers and repositories.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track and manage multiple permitting requirements simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, permit authorities, and internal teams to ensure timely approval of permit drawings.
  • Overall conscientiousness and attention to detail for drawings are necessary to provide agencies with clean, concise, and accurate permit drawings.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
