As the Optima Solutions Application & Advanced Process Expert you will be the recognized PPG industry expert in the area of Pretreatment and Electrocoating; delivering growth, leading innovative solutions (especially for new product and mobility applications), and assuring the continuity of expertise across the Optima Solutions organization. You will have the primary responsibility to design, troubleshoot, and implement processes for new and existing customers and will travel to customer locations to manage projects. Responsibilities: Assert value creation/value capture, proposes novel solutions based on the customers' needs. Work with technical and product management to ensure all new products introduced are thoroughly vetted, validated and the process mapped from an application perspective. Identify and propose launch solutions, provide launch expertise, and ensure launch success, engineering of solutions, and after-action training and support. Lead internal and external teams to achieve the final agreed product specifications Support cost / process mapping, value propositions, growth, and cost reduction. Follow innovative trends in the market and adapts these to provide solutions for PPG's customers Manage training and assist in development of training initiatives. Work with local site teams to resolve production challenges. Qualifications: BA/BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or related; OR equivalent combination of industry experience, training, and skill. 5+ years of experience in coatings with a focus on Substrate Protection Application for Pretreatment and/or Electrocoating. Previous team leadership or project management experience Additional related experience such as Biocides Management, Topcoat Application, Equipment Fabrication/testing/installation/commissioning is desirable. Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, or similar industry training is desirable.
