What You'll Do
  • Promotes a safe work environment
  • Maintains and ensures that the lab is contributing toward producing the best quality bar by reviewing samples, product chemistry and overall operational processes
  • Maintains and calibrates lab equipment to ensure in working order, ensuring reliability and accuracy of analytical and measuring devices
  • Ability to supervise employees and set clear expectations
  • Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support lab standardization and document control activities
  • Verify test results against product specifications and support billet heat traceability activities
  • Maintain the ISO accreditation and participate in internal and external audits
  • Serve as a technical resource for the melt shop and assist in improving billet and heat quality
  • Ability to cross-train in other quality areas and help when needed
What You'll Need
  • Familiarity with steel mill operations in a Melt Shop preferred
Your Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Metallurgy or Material Science preferred
