Ingram Marine Group is seeking a Mechanic to join our Port Allen, LA team. No day is the same in this role, you could be welding, performing inspections, or repairing chassis, and a person that likes that kind of diversity is what we are looking for.

You will be responsible for repair and maintenance of a fleet of 190 chassis, including welding and mechanical repair to containers. The role requires strong understanding of mechanical systems and welding techniques to ensure optimal condition and functionality of equipment.

What you will be doing:

  • Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on chassis.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Welding repairs on containers and chassis as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assuring safe and efficient operations through compliance with Ingram's policies and principles, safety systems, and the company's code of ethics.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma/GED is required
  • 0-2 years relative experience; marine industry experience a plus
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Basic mechanical background and ability is expected.
  • Basic proficiency in welding techniques.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Welding certification is a plus, but not required.
