Job Description

Candidates must be located in southern or northern California and be willing to travel to various locations in their assigned California region

$70 - $80K/yr

Elwyn is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and deliver training to new employees in California.

POSITION SUMMARY:



  • Develop and facilitate live training in a dynamic and interactive format
  • Design e-Training programs
  • Coordinate core Professional Development services


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Delivers scheduled training programs at various Elwyn locations
  • Develops new live and e-Training curriculum as assigned
  • Completes projects and coordinates core services as assigned
  • Utilizes current research and information to design all training
  • Works with operations to complete a needs assessment to determine training objectives for assigned training
  • Develops dynamic curriculum utilizing various modalities to meet prescribed training objectives
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the job duties and challenges of Elwyn employee teams as evident by the curriculum designed and presented.
  • Utilizes the following modalities or presentations in training design and presentation: Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic
  • Presents live training with clarity in pronunciation and volume
  • Engages participants by utilizing pertinent personal experience reflecting on participant experience.
  • Facilitates effective content-related group discussion and interaction throughout the training program.
  • Tailors the content of the training to the needs of the group while maintaining training objectives.
  • Remains objective and focuses on content if/when conflict or emotional reactions occur.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Conveys understanding of Elwyn policies and regulations in all training provided
  • Enter completed training attendance information into Elwyn's Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
  • Obtain and maintain instructor certifications including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, crisis intervention and medication administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three (3) years' training experience (minimum) in human service field
  • Experience developing curriculum is a plus. Instructional design experience highly desired.
  • Familiarity with principles of adult learning theory preferred
  • Availability to provide training on nights and weekends
  • Ability to set up audiovisual and other training equipment and to transport training supplies
  • Demonstrated self-directed work habits
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to perform CPR using agency-trained protocols
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict in a group setting
  • Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Publisher and report-writer experience preferred
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience, and acceptable driving record
