Primary Purpose of Department
The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools, and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative, and service goals.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary role of the Windows Server System Administrator on the OneIT Servers and Storage Team is to configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot issues related to Windows Server operating systems.
Summary of Position Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining a Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing a multi-site Active Directory environment.
  • Managing and maintaining systems using advanced PowerShell scripting.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing Group Policy.
  • An understanding of security best practices.
  • Assist with the management of multiple on-prem data centers.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of relevant experience; or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience managing and maintaining a Windows server infrastructure environment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Experience using advanced PowerShell in an enterprise environment.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related technology field.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining servers in a virtual infrastructure environment.
  • Working knowledge of managing PKI/SSL in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter/ESX
  • Experience with Amazon AWS/Azure
  • Experience with automated deployment technologies, such as Ansible/AWX.
  • Ability to learn new things quickly.
  • Communication and team skills.
