Equity and Payroll Administrator

Quanterix is a company that is digitizing biomarker analysis with the goal of advancing the science of precision health. The company's ultra-sensitive detection solution, Simoa, has the potential to change the way in which healthcare is provided today by giving researchers the ability to closely examine the role of biomarkers in the continuum of health to disease. The technology is currently being used for research applications in several therapeutic areas, including oncology, neurology, cardiology, inflammation and infectious disease.
ROLE SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Equity Administrator with Payroll experience to join our accounting team. The Equity and Payroll Administrator is responsible for overseeing the equity process as well as be the backup for payroll. The role will also work with management across the organization to serve as an advisor on equity related topics, projects, and strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Lead the stock administration function and manage the company's equity program, including process


improvement and implementing automated solutions


  • Oversee the management and administration of the company's stock plan (stock options, RSUs, ESPP, as applicable), including eligibility, enrollment, approvals, processing equity awards, handling vestings, exercises and settlements, tax withholdings, cancellations, terminations, managing black out periods and any other plan-related actions
  • Partner with other functional leads (including Legal, Human Resources, and Payroll) to develop processes to ensure the accuracy of all equity data, including all aspects of record keeping, withholding, reporting, reconciliation and auditing as well as ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place and procedures are followed to comply with SOX requirements
  • Ensure database integrity and accuracy of employee data and equity data in the stock administration system
  • Oversee and manage relationships with external equity trading platform and transfer agent
  • Maintain compliance with the terms and conditions of the company's equity plans and internal processes and procedures related to equity administration
  • Support employee understanding of equity awards programs and policies through the preparation of training materials, employee communications, and supporting employee understanding of stock plan services, enrollment and transactions
  • Reconcile monthly equity activity, including shares outstanding and share pool balances
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual proxy filing, including providing and reviewing equity data
  • Support bi-weekly payroll for US employees including processing and reviewing the payroll submissions.
  • Cross train on standard payroll process and special payments such as terminations, bonus and commission payments, equity and leave of absences, and other payroll related initiatives.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and submission of all equity and payroll related financial statement audit and internal control requests
  • Assist with payroll and withholding accuracy and compliance with applicable laws (US jurisdictions), regulations, and company policies
  • Act as the primary contact for employees for all equity administrative matters (and secondary contact for equity administrative matters), answer questions, assist with employee education and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Research and propose system enhancements and payroll process improvements
  • Stay updated on equity and payroll regulations, tax laws and industry trends, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and best practices globally.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in stock plan administration or equity compensation management
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Thorough knowledge of equity processes and equity tax law compliance
  • Relevant stock administration experience or equivalent experience in a publicly traded company
  • Experience collaborating with HR and legal teams, including cross-functional initiatives that include indirect reports.
  • Experience working with stock plan administration software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience managing processes and systems to maximize effectiveness in a SOX compliant environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle extremely confidential information in an expeditious and discretionary manner
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and manage and prioritize conflicting demands on time
  • Demonstrated customer service focus
  • Solid problem solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with all levels of organization
  • Strong organization, ability to prioritize tasks to meet requirements and deadlines
  • Capacity to work in a time-sensitive and high-volume environment

  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) preferred
  • International Equity experience helpful
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Experience implementing modern equity administration platforms
