ROLE SUMMARY:
The Vice President, General Manager of Laboratory Services is responsible for strategy and business expansion of research and clinical testing services in support of Quanterix's mission to advance precision medicine via proprietary ultrasensitive immunoassay technology. Partner with the Commercial organization, own the P&L, lead a team of 40 and drive revenue to impact the business. Our VP, GM of Laboratory Services will be responsible for end-to-end implementation and execution of clinical and research services. Defines organizational structure, staffing/capacity plans, reporting structures, standard operating procedures, and communication plan.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Achieve Laboratory Services goals included in Quanterix Annual Operating Plan
  • Create and execute multi-year vision and strategy map for program development, including expansion of research services, laboratory infrastructure and clinical test development
  • Develop organization: recruit appropriate staff, add skills to address gaps to support growth, build strong team environment
  • Lead Total Quality Management practice, and achieve/maintain required state and federal licenses including CLIA, CAP accreditation, ISO 15189 Clinical Laboratory accreditation, NYS lab Accreditation
  • Work closely with Commercial team and customers to understand project background and provide technical support to team members. Provide regular updates to customers and review all data (e.g. presentations, final reports) before delivered externally
  • Collaborate with Assay Development and Manufacturing programs and other business units to assure necessary materials and systems are available for client projects.
  • Ensure that all personnel are competent to perform their assigned activities; ensure employee alignment with corporate objectives and project priorities to achieve quarterly revenue; conduct management reviews
  • Prepare and plan annual operating budgets and capital budgets.


WHAT WE'LL EXPECT FROM YOU:
Basic Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree
  • 10+ years of experience in clinical and/or research labs
  • Experience leading in a customer-facing, revenue-generating role
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory services and quality management
  • Experience in laboratory financial management, budget planning and financial compliance



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ph D in life sciences or related field
  • Track record of growing a business unit and expanding service offerings
  • Demonstrated critical thinker with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives
  • Self-motivated with critical eye for detail a must



Expectations, Skills & Abilities:


  • Experience building financial models that incorporate unit sales, margin, OPEX, IRR and NPV
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in marketing, product management, and / or strategy roles including leading market analysis, strategic planning, and new product development and commercialization required
