Apply now to learn more about our "Find Your Fit" program at Ahuja where you will start in our float pool and get to experience first-hand the different areas we have to offer and then make your decision on where you would like to call "home" after your initial orientation period.

Ahuja 5

Ahuja 5th floor is a 36 bed medical/surgical unit, in which all beds have cardiac monitoring capability. It is comprised of all private rooms. Our patients range from 18 years old to 100+. On the 5th floor, an interdisciplinary approach is used to provide safe, patient/centered quality care to those we care for, assisting in returning the patient to his or her optimal potential. The unit is staffed by a Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, RN's, LPN's, PCA's and Clerical Associates. We work along-side the hospitalist team, community providers as well as many of the hospitals Nurse Practitioners and Physicians assistants. We also have a night shift nurse practitioner and surgical app on most evening shifts. We work well with other hospital departments to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Common Diagnoses:

COPD, Heart failure, Stroke, Pneumonia, Asthma/Bronchitis, Urinary Tract Infection, Chronic Renal Failure, Dehydration, Diabetes Mellitus, Cellulitis, Decubitus Ulcers, Wound Infections, Hospice Symptom Management and Gastrointestinal Problems

Ahuja 6

Ahuja 6th floor is a 36-bed medical-surgical, telemetry, and neuro floor. Our patients range from young adult to geriatric, and have a variety of different medical diagnoses. On the 6th floor we are committed to providing safe patient care, and we utilize an interdisciplinary team to ensure all of our patients' needs are being addressed in an efficient manner. The staff consists of RN's, LPN's, PCNA's, nurse managers, and clerical staff; in addition to these positions, we also use The Care Teams of Tomorrow model, which created various positions focusing on supporting bedside staff members. We are very welcoming of new employees, and our onboarding consists of using evidence-based practice to assist staff become oriented to the unit by providing useful feedback, setting learning objectives, teaching hospital protocols, and encouraging critical thinking.

Heart failure, chronic kidney disease, arrhythmias, stroke, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, sepsis diabetes, palliative care/hospice

Ahuja 7:

Ahuja 7th floor is a 36 bed medical/surgical unit. We specialize in the post op care of patients following orthopedic, colorectal, gyn, general surgery, ENT, neuro and vascular procedures. We work closely with Nurse practitioners, residents, orthopedic coordinators, and attending physicians/surgeons. Our patients range from 15 years old to 100+. The unit is staffed by a Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, RN's, LPN's, PCNA's, patient experience liaisons, and clerical Associates. We are DNV certified for our hip/knee and spine programs.

Common Diagnoses:

Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee replacement, Total Shoulder replacement, Spinal Laminectomy /fusions, Bowel resections, Colectomies, Thyroidectomies, Mastectomies, are a few of the more common surgeries we care for here on Ahuja 7. We also care for the emergent surgical needs such as fractures, appendicitis and cholecystitis.

Ahuja ICU:

The Ahuja ICU is a 20 bed surgical and medical intensive care unit. We care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs. The team consists of highly skilled nurses, providers, advanced practice nurses, patient care assistants, and other ancillary staff who are dedicated to caring for the sickest patients and families. Our critical care nurses are trained on devices such as Intra -Aortic balloon pump, Impella, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Hypothermia Management and in advanced hemodynamic monitoring. The team strives to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and families.

Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, Vascular surgery, Thoracic surgery, Stemi, Sepsis, Renal Failure, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac/Respiratory Arrest, DKA, Shock, Gastric bleeding, Stroke, Overdose, Alcohol Withdrawal

Ahuja Stepdown:

The Ahuja SDU is a 16 bed surgical and medical intermediate care floor. We care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs who have downgraded from a critical need but still need close monitoring. The team consists of highly skilled nurses, providers, advanced practice nurses, patient care assistants, and other ancillary staff who are dedicated to caring for patients and families. Our Step Down nurses are trained to care for cardiac patients post procedure, such as, post heart cath, post ablation, and post cath with TR Band. The team strives to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and families.

Common Diagnoses:

Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, Pre/Post heart cath, and Ablations, Vascular surgery, Thoracic surgery, Stemi, Sepsis, Renal Failure, Respiratory Failure, Gastric bleeding, Overdose, and Alcohol Withdrawal

Observation Unit:

The Observation Unit at Ahuja Medical Center is a new floor opening June 2023 and is a fast paced environment where you will be working directly with providers to assess patients and create a care pathway for them. The observation unit has 22 beds with a lower patient to nurse ratio of about 4/5:1 with an average turnover rate of 24hrs.

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Dimensions are:
