Job Objective: The EHS Trainer will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering engaging materials with an understanding of adult learning theory, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain comprehensive EHS training programs.
- Collaborate with EHS team members to develop training to address specific support needs for field activities.
- Conduct EHS training sessions for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, annual refresher courses, and specialized safety topics.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultation with leadership.
- Create engaging training materials, including presentations, handouts, and multimedia tools.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with EHS regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Passion for delivering engaging materials with an understanding of adult learning theory.
- Three to five years of experience in developing and delivering training; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other EHS regulations strongly preferred.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to create engaging and effective training materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Certification in EHS or related field (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or training in EHS is highly desirable.
