New Grad RN (Ahuja Med/Surg - 5th floor)

The 5^th floor at Ahuja Medical Center (AMC 5) is a medical surgical unit with 30 telemetry capable beds. This unit primarily cares for patients with general medical complaints such as CHF, diabetes, post CVAs, DVTs , pneumonia and small bowel obstructions to name a few. This unit has a 5:1 nurse to patient ratio for days and a 6:1 ratio for night shift.

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Dimensions are:

1. Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.

2. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.

3. Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
