The Director of Procurement & Subcontracting is responsible for
leading the development and execution of comprehensive Project
Procurement Plans. This role supports preconstruction
activities, estimating, and proposal services, while providing
strategic direction and mentorship to procurement teams on both
routine and complex projects. The Director will design and
implement supply management strategies and business processes
that align with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring
effective supplier relationships and optimizing procurement
outcomes.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Project Procurement
    Plans.
  • Support preconstruction efforts, including estimating and
    proposal services.
  • Provide functional direction and mentorship to procurement
    personnel across various projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring
    awareness of costs and lead times for major equipment and
    materials.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement supplier performance goals
    focused on cost, quality, and service.
  • Manage the competitive solicitation process, including
    supplier selection, contract development, and risk mitigation
    strategies.
  • Implement supply management strategies and business
    processes that align with company and departmental goals.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and commercial items with
    suppliers.
  • Collaborate with business unit representatives to resolve
    field disagreements and potential disputes.
  • Lead initiatives for total cost reduction, cost savings,
    and Supplier Diversity goals.
  • Conduct financial, logistical, commercial, risk, and cost
    analyses.
  • Develop and implement project purchasing strategies,
    converting them into actionable bid package plans.
  • Oversee and execute the end-to-end commercial transaction
    cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and
    procedures.
  • Lead the sourcing and identification of suppliers at both
    national and regional levels.
  • Manage the procurement lifecycle for major construction
    projects, from strategy development to the resolution of claims
    and contract variations.
  • Integrate procurement strategies with design and
    construction teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Show your expertise

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement and subcontracting,
    preferably in Microelectronics, Life Sciences, Alternative
    Energy, or similar high-tech industries.
  • Extensive experience in subcontracting and procurement of
    equipment/materials.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills, with a focus
    on results delivery and team building.
  • Ability to stay current with relevant technology and
    innovations in procurement.
  • Exceptional ethical standards, negotiation skills, and
    interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage stress effectively in a dynamic
    environment.
  • Experience with various contract types, including fixed
    price, unit price, time and material, and cost-reimbursable
    contracts.
  • Strong background in financial analysis, activity-based
    costing, and supply chain management methodologies.
