A Brief Overview

Performs painting, finishing, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures.

What You Will Do



  • Performs painting, finishing, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures.
  • Maintains and repairs walls, wall coverings, and other painted surfaces throughout the facility.
  • Refinishes furniture and woodwork; paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, lacquers and redecorates walls, woodwork, and fixtures.
  • Estimates time and material costs on painting and redecorating projects.
  • Identifies and corrects unsafe working conditions with management oversight; knowledgeable in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work; inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building code(s).
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures: to include reporting all accidents and injuries in a timely manner (performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures).
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments and/or all training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Initiates/document all work in CMMS system; work orders both reactive and preventative.
  • Shift times may vary according to hospital demands and emergencies.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
