Position Summary:



Adjunct Faculty (Part-time) who may be qualified to teach any subject in the doctoral (DSW or PhD) curricula either online, face to face, and or hybrid.

While we are open to applicants who can teach any subject in the social work curriculum, those with the ability to teach research methods and statistics are especially encouraged to apply.



Position Responsibilities:




  • Teach courses as scheduled.
  • Provide timely individualized, and supportive feedback on student work.
  • Communicate concerns regarding student participation, comportment, and performance with the student and the program director.
  • Use Canvas (Learning Management System) to monitor discussion boards, post announcements, and grade assignments.



Experience & Educational Background:




  • A DSW or a Ph.D. in Social Work/Social Welfare or a doctoral degree in a related field.
  • A Master Degree in Social Work from an accredited social work program or a master degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years post MSW experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence (face to face and or online).



Skills & Competencies:




  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Interest and experience working with diverse student populations and commitment to creating inclusive learning environments.
  • Asynchronous and Synchronous online teaching experience and/or interest in teaching face-to-face on campus (Wilf Campus).
  • Demonstrated scholarship, expertise, and the ability to teach in one or more of the following content areas: practice, human behavior, policy, research, cultural diversity, and field.
  • Work experience that includes competencies, skills, and knowledge levels required for social work instruction.
  • Experience with CANVAS learning management system or similar system (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle) with a willingness to learn Canvas).
  • Ability to manage the learning environment through effective record-keeping, submitting grades on time, and enforcing WSSW's academic, code of conduct, and attendance policies.
  • Commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering social work values and ethics in students.

Salary Range:



$4,500 - $7,000
