Shipping & Receiving | Laserflex

Position Description:


Laserflex, part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a Shipper/Receiver. As a Shipper/Receiver you are responsible for working in conjunction with the Shipping team to accurately pack, ship and receive product in our metal fabrication facility.

This position is first shift. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 4:00am to 2:30pm.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Running shipping and receiving reports
* Locating, identifying (part matches print) and counting parts
* Driving a forklift to load and unload trucks
* Wrapping / banding and unpackaging skids
* Expediting of parts through the shop
* Assembling / kitting of products
* Keeping track of daily incoming and outgoing shipment weights
* Generating monthly weight reports per DOT requirements
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Position Requirements:


* High School Diploma or GED required
* 3-5 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the metal processing and distribution industry, and forklift experience with data entry for receiving, cycle counts and transfers
* Experience reading blueprints is an asset
* Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and Mainframes; strong math skills
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to the position, in compliance with state regulations and the company policies
* Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment
* Successfully pass the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection & measurement, and process monitoring & problem-solving skills
