Who You Are:

Versar is seeking a Geospatial Technology Officer (GTO) that will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of geospatial technologies within the organization. This role involves collaborating with a talented Geospatial & Digital Solutions (GDS) Market Sector team to integrate geospatial data and technologies to improve the operations, enhancing decision-making processes, and supporting strategic goals of our customers. This position will report to Vice President & Market Sector Lead for GDS and drive the business strategy and technical solutions needed to successfully grow this market and achieve its near- and long-term goals. This is one of the company's most important customer facing roles, and it will provide the candidate the opportunity to provide the strategic direction, go-to-market approach, and interact with bleeding edge technologies in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will be able to help lead a talented team that is designing and building solutions that will assist our customers overcome their dynamic and complex challenges . To be successful in this role you must be able to translate relevant details about technologies into a language that our customers appreciate and can be understood.

Specific tasks will include but not limited to playing a pivotal role in determining our customers' needs and priorities, crafting technical solutions responsive to those needs, helping to shape customer implement these solutions, and positioning GDS for significant growth. What You'll Do:

The GTO will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of geospatial technologies within GDS.

  • Develop and implement geospatial technology strategies and solutions to support organizational objectives.
  • Manage and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Lead the development and deployment of GIS applications and tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate geospatial data into business processes and decision-making.
  • Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to provide insights and support for various projects.
  • Stay current with advancements in geospatial technology and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the use of geospatial technologies.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to geospatial data.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g., Computer Engineering, Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Required Experience: 20+ years designing and delivering geospatial solutions; 20+ years of experience in diverse markets assisting customers and organizations achieve desired objectives and have served clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
  • Experience in cyber, training, IT, networks, or business systems
  • Required Technical Skills: DevOps Experience on premise and Cloud, Automation, Containerization, Kubernetes
  • Experience in the development, drafting, and writing of Technical and Program Management solutions
  • Experience supervising technical and administrative staff
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in application and best practices of ITIL Framework
  • Able to leverage out of the box relationships such as academic, small business and other relationships to identify and build solutions and services, including Concept of Operations (ConOps) development and labor estimation
  • Ability to acquire & subsequently maintain relevant domain accreditations in at least two of the following Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in applying service delivery business models and technologies to deliver successful outcomes that support and enhance customer mission capabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of service model conceptualization, design, business case analysis, and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize and co-develop solutions that accelerate customers attainment of mission objectives
  • US Citizenship Required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Currency with Department of Navy technical approaches specifically related to next generation adoption of Cloud, Network and Cybersecurity emerging technologies
  • Experience working in a P&L capacity and understanding the balance of delivering solutions that meet business-oriented objectives
  • ITIL certification/PMP certification

Technical Skills:

  • Lead technical solution strategy throughout the Capture and Proposal lifecycle, from early Qualification through Proposal submission.
  • Contribute to GDS win strategies and lead the development of technical win themes and solution readiness plans.
  • Engage current and prospective customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to shape acquisitions that achieve desired results.
  • Represent the broader GTO organization with customers to ensure technology solutions are translated into customer specific needs
  • Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet anticipated or actual acquisition requirements.
  • Prioritize Navy needs to influence GTO investments
  • Lead solution design and the development of key artifacts including, but not limited to architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, etc.
  • Develop unsolicited technical recommendations, collateral and RFI/RFP responses to engage prospective customers and position GDS to win.
  • Collaborate with GDS team members to identify and bring the best technical and business strategies and solutions to differentiate GDS.
  • Contribute to teaming strategies including identifying and vetting potential partners.
  • Develop cost strategies, LOEs/BOEs/BOMs, and associated rationale
  • Work with GDS customers to achieve deep mutual understanding of objectives and how they connect with GDS technical offerings.
  • Support customer's objectives by Tailoring/Enhancing GDS enterprise offerings for purposes of:
    • Fostering adoption of VERSAR solutions across the GDS's diverse customers
    • Developing a point of view that addresses tactical edge requirements
    • Advocating for customer's key program initiatives within GDS
  • Craft differentiated, innovative technical approaches to bridge seams within our customers programs.
  • Tailor existing GDS offerings. Identify/Create new offerings; and go to market in a manner that would help current and new customers achieve key mission objectives
  • Ensure readiness of solution and proposal support team to prepare a compelling and compliant response to solicitations.
  • Coach and advise more junior solution architecture and proposal support resources.
  • Review proposals and provide critical feedback needed to strengthen our solution and proposals.
  • Author Technical volume introductions, key sections and orals slides including developing compelling graphics.

The position will primarily work remotely.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $200,000 - $225,000
