Lead Bridge Maintenance Technician

Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Lead Bridge Maintenance Technician.

What You'll Do:

• Performs landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, tree trimming, and pruning.
• Cleans bridge stormwater drainage structures and on bridge slopes.
• Performs general maintenance duties such as litter and debris removal.
• Performs concrete structural repair to sidewalks and bridges or overpasses.
• Climbs, moves and works at heights on and under bridges using proper safety equipment.
• Fills and patches asphalt pavement potholes and distresses.
• Performs Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) / temporary traffic control
• Provide after-hours emergency incident response during scheduled on-call rotation.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Performs preventative maintenance on company vehicles or equipment.
• Operates equipment such as edgers, gators, blowers, dump trailers, chain saws, line trimmers, forklifts, etc.
• Drives company trucks, towing trailers, and rolling arrow boards if necessary.
• Logs maintenance work-order information and checklists manually and electronically
• Loads and unloads equipment, supplies, tools, and material.
• Uses all equipment, tools, materials, and supplies safely.
• Manages Work orders from specific Bridge characteristics and assigns them to HMTs within his personal domain. Verifies work and completion of the work by his HMTs

What You'll Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speed.
• 3-5 years of experience in roadway & bridge operations, construction, utilities, and landscaping.
• Obtain MOT certificate (coursework and certification paid for by Versar)
• Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL A license
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• MOT Certified
• Agricultural Pesticide Applicator's License
• Ability to drive manual transmission.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite in Miami, FL.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $22/hr - $25/hr
