What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager! In this individual contributor role, you will act as the technical lead over the design of new and existing products. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams focused on the design and manufacture of leading-edge avionics products. You will act as the technical point of contact both internally and with our customers, who include the world's most recognizable airframers.

This position is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule. This role will not be eligible for fully remote work.

How You Will Do It:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team comprising of electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and certification engineers.
  • Lead project-level design reviews through development, including planning, architecture, implementation, verification, and certification.
  • Propose and manage the design of new products, improvements, and technology updates to ensure that our developments align with market needs and product roadmaps.
  • Lead the technical team in the pursuit of new business.
  • Technical point of contact with Astronautics customers, current and future.
  • Partner with program management to plan and execute schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to management and customers.

What We Look For:

Required

  • Minimum five years of engineering experience in electronics product development.
  • Two years of engineering project leadership experience.
  • Experience planning and executing engineering development projects, including staffing, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical discipline from an accredited university.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred

  • 5 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience managing projects with formal project management tools (ie MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience in the design of avionics or other safety-critical systems.
  • Experience in a safety-critical industry (i.e., Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices).
  • Experience with ARP-4754, DO-160, DO-254, or DO-178.
