Electronics Calibration Technician

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Calibration Technician to support the calibration of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical test and measurement equipment used in the manufacture of avionics instruments and displays. In this role you will perform routine and complex work related to the calibration of the various test equipment used in the production process. In this role, all work is to be done in accordance with controlled procedures using standard and specialized tools and diagnostic test and measurement equipment.

This on-site position is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Quality Engineering Manager.

How You Will Do It:

  • Calibrate instruments that measure electric current, voltage, resistance, RF, photometric, pressure, temperature, time, force, torque, flow, physical, and mechanical characteristics for avionics equipment.
  • Calibrate manufacturing/engineering test equipment to specific performance specifications.
  • Interface with other departments in the execution of duties to ensure the calibration due date schedule is maintained.
  • Recognize conditions that are out of tolerance and initiate corrective action and documentation.
  • Assure accurate and timely input of data into the laboratory system.
  • Ability to understand and track revision history in procedures and products and relate it to items being worked on.
  • Ability to identify documentation that requires revision, changes, or modifications and suggest recommendations.
  • Provide individual solid contributions to achieve the calibration team goals.

What We Look For:

Required

  • Associate's degree in electronics or another related program from an accredited institution (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Experience developing calibration procedures based on calibration standard practices and commercial and engineering data.
  • Analytical skills to identify sources of measurement error.
  • Strong ability to analyze data and communicate results within a team setting.
  • Maintain technical logs, records, databases, test results, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical schematics, specifications, and calibration procedures.
  • Strong technical verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated to complete assignments correctly and on schedule.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements

  • Excellent vision, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and sit/stand for extended periods of time. '* Experience developing calibration procedures based on commercial and engineering data.

Desired:

  • Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training.
  • Test equipment repair experience.
  • Technical training or experience in electronics is preferred.
