Lead Packaging Systems Engineer - High Speed Beverage Production

Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Packaging Systems Engineer who has a desire to contribute to our clients' success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position will be working out of one of our Foth offices or a US-Based Remote work from home location.
Position Overview:
The primary focus of this position is to lead projects for improving existing packaging systems and integrating new packaging systems for our clients. In this role, you will be involved with all phases of the project execution cycle from concept through execution. While performing the primary tasks associated with this position, within scope, schedule and budget, you will be asked to lead the following efforts:
Existing Packaging Systems
- Auditing & data analysis
- Solution development
- Documentation updating/development and management
New Packaging Systems
- Scoping
- Estimating
- Scheduling
- Design development
- Installation
- On-Site commissioning
- Performance testing
- Documentation development and management
Primary objectives of this position include presenting proposals and information to both internal and external audiences and coaching, delegating to, and mentoring other engineers and designers. Travel to other Foth offices or client locations will be regularly required (approximately 30% annual average).

Required Qualifications:
  • BS Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of experience with design and/or integration of food/beverage systems
  • Capital project execution experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15+ years with packaging systems design including, but not limited to, conveyor types and appropriate applications for various types of materials, ancillary packaging equipment (bulk glue delivery systems, balers, container and case coders, etc.)
  • 5+ years of beverage industry experience, specifically including high-speed (1000 containers/minute or higher) container handling
  • Working in a consulting environment
  • Understanding of balanced line flow for packaging systems
  • CAD software experience
  • PE registration or ability to obtain
Preferred Previous Experience with the Following High Speed Packaging Equipment:
  • Liquid or solid filling and closure systems
  • Labeling systems
  • Inspection and rejection systems (container, case/carton, label placement, etc.)
  • Case erecting and packing systems
  • Depalletizers, palletizers, and stretch wrapping
