Position Summary The Sourcing Supervisor oversees a team responsible for promoting and implementing strategic and tactical sourcing activities and proactively managing assigned commodities and supply base. This role involves constructing RFx documents, negotiating products or services from strategic suppliers, and establishing and maintaining supplier relationships to maximize value for the company, including total cost of ownership. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary are commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee a team responsible for developing RFx documents, obtaining and analyzing quotations, leading sourcing efforts, and negotiating total cost elements for assigned commodities in alignment with operational strategies
  • Guide the team in identifying opportunities to reduce total costs through new sources, substitutions, improved systems or methods, and other supply chain management techniques such as target costing and negotiations
  • Direct the team to analyze current market trends and track relevant indices for key components of Chord Energy's business to anticipate price fluctuations and potential market shortages
  • Supervise the review of contracts and master service agreements, negotiation of changes, and assistance with legal reviews
  • Lead the team in reviewing and interpreting complex requirements, constructing compliant and competitive proposal inputs, and directly negotiating and managing large and complex master service agreements and pricing contracts
  • Identify and manage new product development opportunities and integrate new business units into the sourcing efforts
  • Evaluate alternative proposals and select the most effective approach to meet objectives.
  • Ensure the team identifies and selects suppliers that provide the required quality, flexibility, reliability, and pricing for selected services and commodities
  • Oversee Supplier Relationship Management, including regular supplier audits and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) through quarterly and annual business reviews.
  • Maintain and monitor the Approved Supplier List (ASL) with input and feedback from operations
  • Ensure the preparation of periodic reports as agreed with management
  • Enforce immediate reporting of non-conformances and follow up until resolved
  • Assign additional duties to team members as needed, according to the requirements of the location or company

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain management, including at least five 5 years focused on external sourcing
  • 3 years of experience in leading people
  • Ability to be on call weeknights and weekends
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with computers to include MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and other MS Office programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mustpossess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to readprinted materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Finance, or related field
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work independently with changing priorities
  • Ability to think strategically with excellent quantitative skills
  • Proven record of results based performance
  • Strong initiative and proven project management skills
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role
