Position Summary The innovation team focuses on identifying, testing, developing, and implementing new ideas or technologies to improve processes and drive growth. This Innovation Superintendent will research, collaborate, experiment to solve problems, and improve current standards across the company.This position reports to the Innovation Director and is based in Williston/Watford City/New Town, ND. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Identify, evaluate, and work to mitigate operational risks associated innovation pilots and new technologies
  • Responsible for execution of all field-based innovation pilots including, scoping, execution planning, managing field-based vendors and consultants, and coordinating work between Chord functional groups
  • Collaborate with field employees to map out current processes and define barriers to improvement to identify opportunities for innovation
  • Build relationships with field-based employees across all levels and functions
  • Identify and plan necessary training for field-based employees participating in innovation pilot projects
  • Support Management of Change activities as innovation pilots transition into full implementation
  • Develop an external network with other Operators in basin and in other basins to discover new technologies and best practices
  • Perform site visits to other operators' assets to gain exposure to alternate operating approaches and technologies
  • Think creatively to identify novel solutions to overcome obstacles or meet goals

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 10 years of combined experience in Production and/or Operations with preference to experience within the upstream oil & gas industry
  • Proven ability to identify and execute creative or novel solutions to drive organizational value and efficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities while maintaining an eye for detail
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and other common desktop tools
  • Ability to influence stakeholders to successfully achieve initiative deliverables
  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for Company vehicle insurance
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

  • Project Management/Execution Experience - developing cost estimates, scopes, and schedules, and executing against those plans
  • Experience leading a team either through direct management or as the lead of a project/initiative
  • Experience implementing new operational processes, techniques, or technologies
